What the Line Includes

The 3000T copper alloy extrusion line combines the following main equipment and process systems.

  • 3000T Horizontal Extrusion Press

The central hydraulic machine provides extrusion force through its prestressed frame, main working cylinder, side cylinders, extrusion beam and container assembly.

  • Hydraulic Piercing System

The integrated mandrel and piercing cylinder support seamless-tube extrusion, with controlled mandrel movement and alignment during production.

  • Automatic Billet Loading System

A servo-driven loading mechanism positions heated billets for transfer into the extrusion press, reducing manual handling during repeated production cycles.

  • Billet Pusher

A hydraulic pusher transfers billets into the loading mechanism. Position detection and length measurement support coordinated billet feeding.

  • Extrusion Container and Die System

The heated container, die slide and hydraulic locking devices hold and position the tooling required for copper alloy extrusion.

  • Hydraulic Drive and Control System

The hydraulic equipment incorporates high-pressure pumps, valves, filtration, oil cooling and pressure-monitoring components to coordinate press movements and extrusion operations.

  • PLC Electrical Control System

The electrical system includes control cabinets, Siemens PLC automation, a touchscreen interface, sensors, switches and associated control components.

  • Automatic Dummy Block Conveyor

The mechanism collects and transfers movable dummy blocks after extrusion and returns them to the preparation position for subsequent cycles.

  • 28 m Water-Sealing System

The downstream water-sealing equipment includes a sealing head, transition channel, water trough, product transfer mechanism and water pump station.

  • 25 m Step-Type Cooling Table

The cooling table uses fixed and moving support arms to advance extruded copper products through the handling section.

  • Saw-Cut Transfer and Cutting System

The cutting section includes a 25 m transfer roller conveyor, hydraulic circular saw and product clamping mechanism for cutting extruded materials to specified lengths.

  • Finished Product Discharge Table

A 7 m output roller table, adjustable length-setting mechanism and receiving rack provide downstream product handling after cutting.

Integrated Copper Alloy Extrusion Process

A complete copper alloy extrusion line requires more than extrusion force alone. Billet preparation, tooling alignment, hydraulic motion, cooling, cutting and material transfer must operate as a coordinated process.

The XJ-3000ZSL extrusion system is designed around this integrated production approach.

Stage 01
Billet Preparation

Copper alloy billets are prepared to the required dimensions and extrusion temperature before entering the loading system.

Stage 02
Automatic Billet Loading

The billet loading mechanism and hydraulic pusher position the billet for transfer into the extrusion container.

Stage 03
Container and Tooling Preparation

The extrusion container is heated to the selected operating temperature, while the appropriate die and mandrel configuration are prepared.

Stage 04
Hydraulic Extrusion and Piercing

The main hydraulic cylinder provides extrusion force. For seamless-tube production, the integrated piercing system coordinates the mandrel and extrusion movement.

Stage 05
Water-Sealing and Product Cooling

The extruded product exits the die and enters the water-sealing system for controlled cooling and reduced atmospheric exposure.

Stage 06
Step-Type Product Transfer

The cooled product moves along the step-type handling table toward the cutting area.

Stage 07
Length Cutting

The saw-cut transfer conveyor moves the product to the hydraulic circular saw for cutting to the required length.

Stage 08
Finished Product Collection

Cut products are transferred to the output table and receiving rack for inspection, subsequent processing or storage.

What products can the 3000T copper alloy extrusion press manufacture?
The press is designed to manufacture copper alloy seamless tubes, solid rods, profiles and suitable flat busbar sections. Final product geometry depends on the alloy, tooling and extrusion process.
Can this machine produce seamless copper alloy tubes?
Yes. The press incorporates a double-action hydraulic piercing system with a maximum specified piercing force of 889 tons. The reference seamless-tube range covers outer diameters of Φ60–200 mm and inner diameters of Φ50–150 mm, subject to wall thickness and tooling requirements.
What is the difference between single-action and double-action extrusion presses?
A single-action press primarily provides the main extrusion movement. A double-action extrusion press incorporates an additional independently controlled piercing or mandrel mechanism, allowing coordinated operations required for seamless-tube extrusion.
What is the maximum extrusion force?
The nominal extrusion force is 3,000 tons, with a specified hydraulic working pressure of 28 MPa and an adjustable extrusion speed of 0.5–50 mm/s.
Does the production line include cooling and cutting equipment?
Yes. The reference configuration includes a 28 m water-sealing system, a 25 m step-type cooling table, a saw-cut transfer conveyor, a hydraulic cutting saw and finished-product handling equipment.
How does the water-sealing system protect copper products?
The water-sealing head allows the extruded product to enter the cooling-water channel immediately after leaving the die. This reduces exposure to the atmosphere during initial cooling and is intended to minimize surface oxidation.
What automation system is used?
The reference equipment uses a Siemens PLC and a 15-inch touchscreen interface. It supports automatic, semi-automatic and manual operation, with monitoring and setting functions for pressure, speed, stroke, position and heating conditions.
What information is needed for an extrusion line quotation?
Please provide the copper alloy grade, required product types, tube or rod dimensions, expected production capacity, available billet specifications, workshop dimensions, electrical supply and cooling-water conditions.
