The production route normally starts with aluminum rod drawing, followed by conductor stranding and cable extrusion. Depending on the product, cabling, screening, armoring, outer sheathing and online testing can be added.

Aluminum rod is drawn to the conductor wire size required by the cable design.
Multiple wires are stranded into a conductor with controlled structure and pitch.
Insulation is extruded and insulated cores are laid up into the required cable construction.
Armor, screening and outer sheath are added when the product design requires them.
Final cable dimensions and electrical performance are checked before winding.
